Lobster Buoy In Orange, White and Yellow

  • 2900

Wooden Lobster buoy painted orange, white and yellow. This is an older toggle buoy that was positioned above the lobster trap and connected to the main buoy 15 to 30 feet away. It's purpose was to keep the rope off the bottom in fluctuating tides. The main buoys are the ones with the handle on top. Toggle buoys are very popular because they are easy to display. These are approximately 12" tall and 5" x 5" wide.

Most buoys are made of cedar because of the lightness of the wood. Cracking is the natural drying process in the wood. Only in rare cases would this affect the buoy and adds to it's character.
