Deck Prisms were used on sailing ships to let light into the cabins from their mountings embedded in the deck. They would hang into the cabin and disperse light sideways for better lighting than a small flat glass window which would only project a beam of light into the room. It measures approximately 3 1/4" wide and 2 3/4" tall. This prism is green glass.
