Maine Lobster Buoy in Blue with White Stripes
Wooden Lobster buoy hand painted in blue with white stripes. This is a main lobster buoy that was positioned 15 to 30 feet away from the toggle buoy and trap. The main buoys are the ones with the handle on top. These are approximately 21" tall and 41/2 to 51/2" wide depending on the size of the log they are cut from.
These are authentic Maine wooden lobster buoys currently hand made by a third generation buoy maker.
Most buoys are made of cedar because of the lightness of the wood. Cracking is the natural drying process in the wood. Only in rare cases would this affect the buoy and adds to it's character.
